What we are looking for
We are looking for an Interventional Radiology Coder to join our team and support accurate coding and compliance within our revenue cycle operations. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Cycle Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring proper charge capture, minimizing denials, and maintaining regulatory compliance. Your expertise will contribute to the accuracy and efficiency of our coding processes, directly impacting the financial success of our organization.

As a key member of the revenue cycle team, your impact will extend beyond coding. Your insights and feedback will help enhance our processes, improve documentation accuracy, and optimize reimbursement. As you deepen your understanding of our operations and industry standards, your scope of responsibilities will expand, allowing you to make a lasting impact on our organization’s financial health and compliance.

Your responsibilities
  • Assign accurate diagnosis, procedure, modifier, and other codes based on clinical documentation, adhering to correct coding conventions and company policies.
  • Meet or exceed departmental productivity and quality standards.
  • Research and resolve client coding and documentation questions using appropriate resources.
  • Contribute to client-specific coding guidelines for assigned clients.
  • Interact with clients to resolve documentation insufficiencies before code assignment, when appropriate.
  • Participate in Coding Services team meetings, sharing knowledge and taking on tasks as workload allows.
  • Resolve pre-billing coding-related edits for assigned clients.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, healthcare accreditation standards, and other applicable guidelines related to coding and data security.

You are
  • Detail-oriented with a strong understanding of medical coding principles.
  • A problem solver who can analyze documentation and ensure accurate code assignment.
  • A strong communicator, able to collaborate with providers and revenue cycle teams.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

You have
  • 2+ years of experience in Interventional Radiology coding.
  • CPC, CIRCC, or equivalent coding certification.
  • Familiarity with federal and state regulations, including Medicare guidelines.
  • Experience using EHR and coding software for documentation and code assignment.
  • Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding, with a deep understanding of IR procedures.
  • Understanding of revenue cycle processes, including claim submission and denial resolution.
